Hase Mikita was born and raised in Shizuoka, Japan. He began playing taiko at age 8.

Starting his professional career in 1998, Hase became a disciple of Eitetsu Hayashi, a pioneer of the solo taiko performance style. He still continues to tour as one of the core members of Eitetsu`s ensemble “Eitetsu FU-UN no KAI”.

He was the leader of a taiko unit “YO-SORO” for 16 years since 2000. After that, he is acting as a soloist all over the world. Hase has collaborated with various artists, likewise his original solo performance. And he gets high praise as a coach, carrying out numbers of workshop not only in Japan but also many foreign countries.
